Carol is a respected thought leader and contributor to the Canadian and global PR industry. Ever the entrepreneur, Carol established her own PR consulting practice followed by a long and enduring business partnership with Esther Buchsbaum.
Among her accomplishments she cites building one of the best healthcare PR practices in the country with a dedicated team of smart, passionate and skilled professionals. She has led the creation of many award-winning programs in the area of consumer and patient education.
Her passion still lies in hands-on client work and she shares her expertise beyond the initial client presentations in strategic communications planning, issues management, messaging, and mentorship.
Carol helped lead the firm through considerable expansion including the creation of one of the country’s most senior, experienced, and results-driven health and wellness divisions. This distinction was recognized in energi PR being invited to join the GLOBALHeathPR network, the world’s largest network of independently owned public relations agencies specializing in consumer and medical health communications.
Carol’s broad range of clients has included: Abbott, Astellas Pharma Canada, International Federation on Ageing, Valeant, ViiV Healthcare, World Cancer Congress, Paladin Labs, LEO Pharma, LasikMD, The Canadian Red Cross Society, Burger King Canada, McGill University, Hilton International and Galderma Canada.
Carol has an accreditation in public relations and is a Fellow of the Canadian Public Relations Society. She is Immediate Past Chair of the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms and was the first PR professional inducted into the Canadian Healthcare Marketing Hall of Fame. She is a graduate of McGill University and is fluently bilingual.

As President and Co-Founder at energi PR, Esther specializes in corporate communications strategy development, stakeholder communications and crisis, and reputation and issues management. She has a particular core competency in the negotiation, development and implementation of CSR programs.
With more than 30 years of experience, she has provided brand development and strategic PR counsel to clients such as Hilton, P&G, Ford, Choice Hotels, Avon, Hotels.com, ADT, Sunbeam, Samsung, Burger King Canada and Uniroyal Tire to name but a few.
Esther is active in industry and community relations and is a member of the IABC, CPRS, PRSA, SATW and TMAC. She is a regular guest lecturer in the McGill University MBA program and sits on the McGill Desautels Faculty of Management Global Marketing Expert Panel.
A communications expert who combines more than a decade of senior management roles in the PR field with previous experience in Canada's biggest newsrooms, Mark brings clients an insider's view on how to craft compelling stories and strategic communications that drive noteworthy media coverage. A veteran of the public relations industry, Mark previously ran the Canadian operations of a global communications agency before joining energi as Managing Director.
Mark has worked with clients in the consumer, health, technology, financial, and not-for-profit sectors, providing strategy, media relations, editorial guidance and issues management for leading organizations such as: P&G, Pfizer, CIBC, TD Bank, HP, Environment Canada, Canada Post, Bell Canada, Timberland, Reebok and World Vision.
Prior to moving to PR, Mark spent 15 years as a reporter and editor at The Globe and Mail, National Post, Financial Post and Canadian Press news service. Mark also lectured at Toronto's Ryerson School of Journalism, one of Canada's leading institutions for journalism.
Jeanelle is passionate about helping companies achieve their business objectives through smart communications executed in the right way and at the right time. With more than 10 years of experience in corporate and brand communications within the Canadian healthcare / pharmaceutical industry, her expertise lies in the areas of strategic communications planning, disease awareness and product launches.
Prior to joining energi PR, Jeanelle was part of the health teams of national and multinational public relations agencies, working in therapeutic areas, including oncology, dermatology, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, respiratory health and biologics. She is experienced in media strategy, patient, HCP and stakeholder relations, and writing for various platforms.
Jeanelle holds an honours bachelor of arts in French studies and communications from York University, and a post-graduate certificate in corporate communications from Centennial College.
